Polly Kngale

Polly Kngale (1940–2020) was a senior custodian of the Bush Plum Dreaming from the Alyawarre people of Utopia. Her lyrical, impressionist style used multi-coloured brushstrokes to depict country from above. Her paintings tell seasonal stories of the bush plum, a sacred women’s food. Polly spoke limited English and signed her works with a cross. Her art is internationally collected.
