Mary Dixon Nungurrayi (c. 1942–2020), a senior Warlpiri artist, painted ceremonial stories such as Woman Body Painting and Hair String Dreaming. Her works depict sacred places and ancestral knowledge through dots, concentric circles, and natural earth tones. A custodian of women’s stories, her refined, symbolic art is part of major Australian and international collections.
