Bessie Nakamarra Sims was a respected Warlpiri artist and a founding member of the Warlukurlangu Artists community in Yuendumu, Northern Territory. Her works, based on her ancestral Jukurrpa (Dreaming) stories, have been exhibited widely across Australia and internationally. A proud cultural custodian, Bessie painted consistently from the mid-1980s and was deeply committed to passing on her knowledge to younger generations.
