Walala Tjalpaltjarri

Walala Tjalpaltjarri (b. late 1960s/early 1970s) paints the Tingari Cycle, sacred journeys through Lake Mackay linked to men’s law and initiation. Using earth tones, dots, and geometric symbols, he depicts ancestral landscapes with waterholes, songlines, and spiritual pathways. Like his brothers Thomas and Warlimpirrnga, Walala is a highly respected elder and his work is internationally collected.
