Rosemary Petyarre

Rosemary Petyarre (b. 1961) is an Anmatyerre artist known for vibrant depictions of the Bush Yam Dreaming. Her flowing brushstrokes evoke the rhythmic movement of yam leaves above ground, while the plant’s sacred role in women’s ceremonies underpins her work. Influenced by batik, her paintings feature curved segments and shifting tones. She is widely respected and internationally collected.
