
Kathleen Petyarre
Kathleen Petyarre (c. 1940–2018), of the Anmatyerre people, was acclaimed for her elegant aerial landscapes of Utopia. Her intricate dot paintings depict bush seeds, lizards, and ancestral journeys. She used a limited earth-tone palette to convey sacred stories. A recipient of major awards, her lyrical, minimalist work is represented in leading Australian and international collections.
